With a 100% pass rate for the Matric group of 2009, academic achievement at CBHS has reached new heights! We have a great team of highly trained and professional staff that is fully committed to ensuring they provide the best educational experience possible. We are focussed on regular and rigorous work and continue to find ways of encouraging pupils to maintain a good work ethic and to work with dedication and pride. We are committed to teach at a standard and level of difficulty that stretches our pupils academically beyond the scope of the formal syllabus and our pupils are encouraged to ensure they are achieving results reflective of their abilities.
At our annual Academic Awards Assemblies and Celebrations, achievers are recognized for their exceptional work. We also have our Academic Support Programme which is compulsory for persistent defaulters who do not reach their potential. We, the staff, pupils and Governors at CBHS are committed to each pupil reaching their full potential.
Regular and Rigorous Work
Addressing the needs of all our pupils from Grade 8 to Grade 12 we endeavour to;
- promote regular work on a daily basis
- encourage pupils to do extra work activities
- extend the range of experiences in academics through practical implementation
- develop an understanding of how memory is extended through regular work
- assist each student to attain their full academic potential
- provide opportunities for leadership, initiative, responsibility and self-esteem
